Urban Agriculture: Farm to Fork

Detroit has a deep history of urban agriculture; presently there are more than 1,400 farms across the city. On this tour learn the impetus of this movement and how it is impacting the lives of Detroiters with Kido Pielack from Keep Growing Detroit. The tour will visit a variety of different farms and market gardens and learn about the movement's history as well as its challenges and opportunities. Throughout, Detroit's unique food system will be explored from all angles.

Tour Start/Finish Location: NEW FOR 2018! There will be two completely different urban ag tours that we will alternate so as to showcase as many farms and gardens as we are able. The June and August tours will begin and end at Wheelhouse Detroit - Hamtramck; July and September will take off and finish from Wheelhouse Detroit Bike Shop on the Riverfront.
